Egyptian President Reaffirms Palestinian State as Key to Middle Eastern Stability

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi restated on Monday that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, is the "sole guarantor" of sustainable Middle Eastern stability. This statement was made during a phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, where they discussed bilateral relations, regional situations, and strategies for restoring regional stability, as announced by Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shennawi in a press release.

According to Kuwait News Agency, during the conversation, President Al-Sisi briefed Prime Minister Carney on Egypt's ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza. He emphasized the importance of using the current regional calm to foster an agreement and to facilitate the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the enclave.

Additionally, both leaders explored ways to enhance economic, trade, and investment relations between Egypt and Canada, aiming to serve mutual interests. They pledged to collaborate on expanding cooperation across various sectors.

The Egyptian president also congratulated the Canadian prime minister on his victory in the recent general election, marking a commitment to work together in the future.
