Kuwait city: The United Arab Emirates has extended its deepest condolences to Sudan and expressed solidarity following the collapse of a gold mine in Huwaid, which resulted in the death and injury of numerous individuals.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Monday, conveying wishes for a quick recovery for those injured in the incident.
The tragic event was reported by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company on Sunday, revealing that at least 11 people lost their lives, and seven others were injured due to the collapse of an informal gold mining pit in Nile River State, northern Sudan.
