DHS: US Deported Over Half Million Illegal Migrants This Year

Kuwait city: The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) unveiled Monday that more than 527,000 illegal aliens were deported and 1.6 others left the country voluntarily since the start of the US President Donald Trump's second term on 20 January this year. "The Trump Administration is on pace to shatter historic records and deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Donald Trump's first year since returning to office," said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

According to Kuwait News Agency, more than 2 million illegal aliens have left the US including 1.6 million who have voluntarily self-deported and over 527,000 deportations. McLaughlin noted that this is just the beginning, emphasizing that President Trump and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem have revitalized an agency previously restricted from performing its duties effectively.

McLaughlin highlighted that despite numerous legal challenges and threats to law enforcement, DHS, ICE, and CBP have not only secured the border but also made significant progress in fulfilling President Trump's commitment to apprehending and deporting illegal aliens. She stated that migrants are increasingly choosing to turn back before reaching the US borders.

The effectiveness of the administration's approach is further evidenced by a reported 99.99 percent decrease in migration through Panama's Darien Gap, demonstrating the broad impact of the current policies on migration patterns.
