Kuwait city: Representative of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabei, honored winners of the 16th International Inventions Fair in the Middle East (IIFME). The four-day event concluded with the participation of more than 213 inventors from 30 countries.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait Science Club (KSC) Chairman and Head of the High Committee for the Fair, Talal Al-Kharafi, attributed the success of the fair to the support from various organizations and working committees. Examination Department Director at the GCC General Secretariat Patent Office, Majid Al-Rafiq, congratulated the winners and highlighted the Secretariat's commitment to supporting Gulf innovators.
KSC announced in a press statement that the Grand Prize was awarded to six Chinese inventors, while Palestinian inventor Cesar Al-Laham received the KSC Prize. A research team from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), consisting of Dr. Sultan Al-Salem, Dr. Fadhila Al-Salamin, and Dr. Sherif El-Eskandarani, secured the Association of Arab Universities Award. Meanwhile, a team from Kuwait University, including Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Azmi and others, won the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils Award.
The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) awards, focusing on Kuwaiti inventors, recognized Qatr al-Nada Al-Enezi with first place, followed by Sheikha Al-Khalfan, Meshari Khajah, Saad Makhseed, and Khaled Al-Hazza in subsequent positions.
The GCC Patent Office Awards honored Saudi inventors Abdulaziz Al-Askar, Fatima Al-Otaibi, Wesam Eldin Saber, and Khaled Ghoneim with the first-place award. Swiss inventor Kabir Singh Dhatt was awarded the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva Prize.
In the context of awards from the Arab League and its specialized organizations, Jordanian inventors Ghadeer Swaifan, Mayada Hadia, and Patrick Okechukwu received the General Secretariat of the Arab League Award. Egyptian inventor Suzan Doush won the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Award, and Algerian inventor Bouhamdoun Saber was awarded by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO).
Saudi inventor Abdullah Al-Ghadhib received the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) Award. Iraqi inventors Najwa Abu Miqdad, Al-Zahra Abdulamir, and Fatima Mohsen were honored with the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) Award. Additionally, Saudi inventor Bader Jazaa won the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) Award.
