Doha: US Democratic Congressman Jim McGovern condemned the Israeli occupation aggression against Qatar on Tuesday, stressing that it is a "flagrant violation" of Qatar's sovereignty and international law. "The Israeli airstrike on Doha blatantly violates Qatari sovereignty and international law," said McGovern on X. "It is clear that Netanyahu does not want peace," he added.
According to Kuwait News Agency, McGovern also called for the withholding of US military aid to the Israeli occupation. He emphasized that US priorities in the Middle East should focus on "a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and increasing the flow of aid to the besieged Gaza Strip." Earlier, the White House announced that President Donald Trump was "deeply dismayed" by the Israeli airstrike on the Qatari capital, stressing that it does not contribute to achieving peace in the Middle East.
