Boursa Kuwait Closes Trading Lower as General Index Declines 97.71 Points

Kuwait city: Boursa Kuwait closed trading on Thursday with its general index declining by 97.71 points, or 1.12 percent, to reach 8,644.17 points, with 189.3 million shares traded through 15,248 cash deals, valued at KD 62.9 million (about USD 192 million). According to Kuwait News Agency, the Main Market Index declined by 113.86 points, or 1.42 percent, to reach 7,925.06 points, with trading of 71.9 million shares across 6,790 cash deals, valued at KD 11.7 million (about USD 35.6 million). The Premier Market Index also dropped by 99.26 points, or 1.06 percent, to reach 9,245.67 points, through trading of 117.4 million shares across 8,458 deals, valued at KD 51.18 million (about USD 156 million). Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index fell 225.46 points, or 2.61 percent, to reach 8,415.36 points, through trading of 66.4 million shares across 5,981 cash deals, valued at KD 10.8 million (about USD 33 million).
