Kuwait city: Kuwait's Al-Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Humoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah commended the Ahmadi Sports Day 2026 as a milestone in the governorate's sports and societal action, highlighting its role in promoting health and coherence. Sheikh Humoud made these remarks to KUNA during his patronage of and presence at the final day of the sports event, which was organized by the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and Al-Ahmadi Governorate.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the event was attended by several prominent figures, including Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and Minister of Social Affairs, Family Affairs and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah. Other attendees included Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, Minister of Oil Tareq Al-Roumi, Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdulaziz Al-Marzouqk, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdulatif Al-Meshari, and Minister of State for Communication Affairs and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Omar Al-Omar.
Chief of His Highness the Crown Prince's Diwan Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the Army General Staff Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Director-General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with several other oil officials, also attended the event. Sheikh Humoud Jaber noted the high turnout and organization of the festival, emphasizing its success in promoting cooperation, belonging, and sportsmanship.
Kuwait Oil Company's CEO Ahmad Al-Eidan told KUNA that the event serves as a model for community participation and promotes sports as a lifestyle that contributes to societal balance and coherence. Al-Eidan mentioned the company's commitment to making the sports day an inclusive platform for different segments of society, including staff, their families, and participants of all ages. He highlighted the company's belief in sports as a means of community communication and creating an environment that fosters giving and continuity both inside and outside of work.
