Algiers: The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) commenced its meeting in Algiers, chaired by Brahim Boughali, President of the APIU and the People's National Assembly (APN). The assembly, which has drawn numerous Arab parliamentarians, is set to run for two days and focuses primarily on the Palestinian issue and the severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, exacerbated by ongoing Israeli occupation aggression, as stated by the Algerian parliament in a press release. According to Kuwait News Agency, the conference is organized under the theme "The Role of the AIPU in Light of Regional and International Changes." It includes sessions managed by AIPU's committees on various topics such as Palestine, social affairs, women and children, political affairs, and parliamentary relations. Participants will also engage in discussions on several "strategic issues" currently confronting the Arab world amid significant regional and international transformations and challenges, as highlighted in the release.
