Vienna: The Arab Group in Vienna has issued a warning regarding the potential threat posed by the nuclear capabilities of the Israeli occupation force to both regional and global security. The group emphasized that dismantling these weapons is the sole path to ensuring safety. According to Kuwait News Agency, this statement was delivered by Sudan's Ambassador to Austria and permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Magni Mofadal, during a session addressing the nuclear threat of the Israeli occupation at the Board of Governors meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Mofadal highlighted a concerning statement made by Israel's Heritage Minister regarding the potential use of a nuclear bomb on Gaza, describing it as a violation of international law and a threat to peace and stability. The Arab Group has called for the enforcement of resolution number 687, which advocates for a zone free of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, as well as adherence to UN General Assembly resolutions aimed at establishing a nuclear-free region in the Middle East. They also expressed concern over the security risks associated with Israel's refusal to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and its lack of transparency regarding nuclear facility inspections by the IAEA. Furthermore, the group urged the IAEA to uphold its responsibilities in addressing this growing concern and to ensure impartiality in handling nuclear threats.
