Ambassador Zainal Leads Arab League Meeting on Sudan Crisis

Cairo: Ambassador Fawzia Zainal, Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, chaired an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives. The meeting was convened at the request of the government of Sudan to address recent attacks in the country.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Zainal underscored the Arab League's dedication to ensuring Sudan's security and stability and to protecting the interests of its citizens. The Council took decisive action by adopting Resolution 9246, which strongly condemns the attacks on Sudan's infrastructure and civilian facilities. These attacks have led to significant loss of life and damage to both public and private property.

The resolution further mandates the Arab League General Secretariat to communicate the Council's decision to relevant states and organizations. This is part of a broader effort to support initiatives aimed at protecting Sudan and maintaining its stability.
