50 Palestinian Patients Cross Rafah into Egypt for Medical Treatment

Gaza Strip: The health authorities in Gaza Strip announced that 50 injured and sick individuals have successfully crossed into Egypt through the Rafah border crossing to receive medical treatment abroad. This marks a significant development, as it is the first such medical transfer since the border crossing's closure in May.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the medical trip was organized in collaboration with the World Health Organization. The initiative comes in response to the destruction of health facilities in Gaza due to the Israeli occupation forces' offensive. This offensive has also resulted in the deaths or arrests of numerous medical personnel.

The 15-month aggression by Israeli forces led to their control over Rafah city and the Philadelphia Corridor, a 14-kilometer-long strip of land along Gaza's southwestern borders. This situation has exacerbated the health crisis in the region, making external medical assistance critical for the affected population.
