Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasised the pivotal role of support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing a development model that prioritises investing in people and youth empowerment. This model positions youth as a central force in driving development and prosperity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister also underscored the contributions of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. His Highness has been instrumental in promoting initiatives that prepare young leaders poised to contribute to Bahrain’s ongoing development.
Tawfeeqi made these remarks during the opening of the supplementary Gulf forum of the ‘Gulf Aware Leaders – Wellbeing and Leadership’ programme. The event was held virtually and included participation from representatives of the GCC General Secretariat and youth leaders from GCC countries.
The minister highlighted that the forum reflects efforts to enhance youth leadership skills, promote wellbeing, and encourage positive engagement with contemporary challenges and developments. The forum’s agenda featured specialised sessions focusing on mental wellbeing and leadership. Additionally, discussions were held on youth initiatives and strategies to further develop the programme and extend its impact across GCC nations.
