Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defence announced that air defence systems intercepted two ballistic missiles and three drones launched from Iran on May 8, resulting in three moderate injuries, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry stated that since the start of the Iranian attacks targeting the UAE, air defence systems have intercepted a total of 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,263 drones. The attacks have resulted in 230 injuries involving individuals of multiple nationalities.
The ministry further reported that the total number of deaths has reached three, including a Moroccan civilian working under contract with the Armed Forces, while civilian fatalities have reached 10.
The Ministry of Defence affirmed its full readiness to address threats and respond to attempts targeting the UAE’s security, sovereignty, stability, and national interests.
