Wright: US-Saudi Arabia to Sign Agreement on Peaceful Nuclear Applications

Riyadh: Chris Wright, US Secretary of Energy, announced on Sunday that the United States is set to sign an agreement with Saudi Arabia on the peaceful use of nuclear energy and its civilian technological applications. Speaking at a press conference in Riyadh, Secretary Wright highlighted that additional details regarding the agreement would be disclosed later this year.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Secretary Wright emphasized that the forthcoming agreement will adhere to the 123 Agreements framework, which aims to promote US nonproliferation principles. He expressed optimism about the potential for a long-term partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia in the realm of peaceful nuclear energy, as efforts to localize these capabilities continue in the kingdom.
