Riyadh: The skies over Northern Borders Region witnessed the appearance of the Wolf Moon last night, marking the first supermoon of 2026. The astronomical event created a spectacle that drew the attention of skywatchers and astronomy enthusiasts across the region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, member of the Astronomy and Space Club Adnan Khalifa explained that the Wolf Moon is the name given to the first full moon of January each year. He noted that the term originates from ancient traditions, when wolves were often heard howling during this time of winter.
Khalifa added that the clear skies over Northern Borders Region provided ideal conditions for observation, encouraging the public to take advantage of such celestial events to enhance astronomical awareness and foster a greater interest in space science within the community.
