Kuwait city: United States' Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, announced a lethal kinetic strike on a narcotics-trafficking vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) in the Eastern Pacific. In a statement, Hegseth stated that the strike was as per the directions of President Donald Trump.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Hegseth explained that the vessel was identified by intelligence as being involved in illicit narcotics smuggling and was traveling along a known narco-trafficking route. He added that the four males onboard were killed during the strike, which took place in international waters, and clarified that no US forces were harmed. Hegseth emphasized that the Western Hemisphere is no longer considered a safe haven for narco-terrorists attempting to bring drugs to US shores.
President Donald Trump recently announced that the United States would soon commence ground strikes against drug cartels beyond its borders. This follows a series of airstrikes targeting drug gangs in Latin America. The US administration had informed Congress earlier this month that the country is engaged in an armed conflict with what it described as "terrorist" drug cartels.
