US Presidential Adviser Visits Tripoli for High-Level Libya Talks

Tripoli: US Presidential Adviser for Arab, Middle Eastern, and African affairs Massad Boulos arrived in Tripoli from Tunis on Wednesday, marking the first senior US visit to Libya since US President Trump assumed office. The visit aims to review Libya's dossier at local, regional, and international levels.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Boulos is scheduled to meet with Head of the Presidential Council Mohammad Al-Menfi, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, and Central Bank Governor Siddiq Al-Kabir. The discussions will focus on US-Libya relations and recent political and security developments. Boulos will also outline Washington's vision and proposed solutions before traveling to Benghazi later today for similar talks with other political and security figures.

Yesterday in Tunis, Boulos and Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali Al-Nafti emphasized the importance of a UN-supervised, Libyan-led political settlement to ensure Libya's security, stability, and territorial integrity, as reported by Tunisia's Foreign Ministry.

The visit comes amid Libyan concerns over media reports suggesting that Washington plans to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Libya. On Tuesday, Libya's House of Representatives issued a warning against involving Libya in such plans and reiterated its firm rejection of any forced resettlement that could undermine the Palestinian cause.
