Washington: US President Donald Trump delivered a national address outlining his administration's key accomplishments during the first 11 months of his current term, mainly economic performance, price reductions, and easing inflation pressures that escalated during the COVID-19 pandemic and led to continued economic repercussions. "Tonight, after 11 months, our border is secure, inflation is stopped, wages are up, prices are down, our nation is strong, America is respected, and our country is back," Trump said on Wednesday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Trump emphasized that the nation is on the brink of an unprecedented economic boom, attributing this to his administration's efforts. He noted that when he assumed office, the country faced the worst inflation in 48 years, which significantly increased living costs. Trump asserted that his administration had implemented transformative changes in Washington, claiming the impact surpassed any previous administrations. Criticizing former leadership, he stated that prior politicians prioritized insiders and foreign interests over American citizens.
Trump specifically addressed economic issues under President Joe Biden, claiming significant increases in car prices, gasoline, hotel rates, and airfares. He argued that these costs are now declining rapidly under his leadership. Furthermore, Trump reiterated his administration's achievement of securing USD 18 trillion in investments, contributing to job creation, wage increases, and economic growth.
Beyond domestic achievements, Trump discussed US involvement in international matters, including efforts to mediate the conflict in Gaza, address global military conflicts, and advance trade policies and counter-narcotics initiatives.
