Qatar’s National Day Commemoration Strengthens Diplomatic Bonds with Kuwait

Doha: Qatar is celebrating its National Day, honoring the legacy of Sheikh Jassem bin Mohammad bin Thani, who founded the Gulf state on December 18, 1878. The occasion is marked by a significant gesture of solidarity from Kuwait, reflecting the strong bonds of brotherhood and shared destiny between the two nations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Qatar's National Day is celebrated under the slogan "With you we rise, from you we await." This year's celebration is particularly notable as the State of Kuwait has adorned itself with Qatari flags, symbolizing the deep-rooted bilateral relations that go beyond geographical proximity and reflect a unique intertwined destiny.

Qataris take this occasion to remember the achievements of Sheikh Jassem bin Mohammad bin Thani, who unified the country and laid the foundations for a cohesive and independent state. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of Qatar, emphasized during the Shura Council's opening the country's stable economic performance despite global volatility. The emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, attended by Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, underscored regional solidarity against these aggressions. The summit reaffirmed the inseparability of Qatar's security from that of the broader Arab and Islamic world.

Kuwait's participation in celebrating Qatar's National Day is also a reflection of the strong bilateral relations that have witnessed significant growth across political, economic, and cultural sectors. The partnership is further cemented by initiatives like the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Road in Doha and the thriving trade exchange and mutual investments between the two nations.
