Beijing: China stated on Thursday that the military cooperation between the United States and the Philippines should not infringe on Beijing's sovereignty, its rights, and interests in the South China Sea. A spokesperson from the Ministry of Defense expressed these concerns while reacting to the US-Philippine accord, which was endorsed on November 18, focusing on exchanging intelligence. According to Kuwait News Agency, the spokesperson emphasized that forming coalitions, demonstrating military might, and preparing to trigger a confrontation in the South China Sea could lead to deeper tensions and jeopardize regional stability. The spokesperson further mentioned that security and defense cooperation among states should aim to boost regional peace and security, rather than targeting a third party and seeking to undermine that party's interests.
