US Envoy Amos Hochstein Sees “Real Opportunity” for Lebanon Conflict Resolution.

Beirut: United States' Presidential Envoy, Amos Hochstein, affirmed Tuesday that there is a "real opportunity" to resolve the conflict, upon concluding a meeting with Lebanese House Speaker, Nabih Berri. According to Kuwait News Agency, Hochstein spoke to the press after the meeting, describing it as constructive and highly beneficial. He emphasized that reaching a solution remains a decision for the stakeholders involved, expressing hope that a resolution could be achieved within the next few days. The US envoy also met with Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, and Foreign Minister Abdullah Buhabib to discuss efforts towards a ceasefire and the implementation of UNSC resolution 1701. A statement from the Premier's media office highlighted that achieving a ceasefire, ending Israeli aggression, and protecting Lebanon's territorial integrity are the government's top priorities. Hochstein's visit is part of broader efforts to broker a ceasefire, as Lebanon has been subjected to heavy air strikes b y Israeli forces since September 23. These attacks have resulted in significant loss of life and property, as well as the displacement of thousands of people.
