Washington: The US Department of Justice has accused, for the first time ever, some activists of Antifa-a left-wing opposition movement to most US President Donald Trump’s policies-of terror charges, FBI director Kash Patel said on Thursday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the FBI has arrested Antifa-aligned anarchist, violent extremists and brought terrorism charges against them for the July 4 Prairieland ICE attack in Texas. “Under President Trump’s new authorities, we’ve made 20+ arrests. No one gets to harm law enforcement. Not on my watch,” Patel stated.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi emphasized that President Trump has made it clear that Antifa is regarded as a left-wing terrorist organization and will be prosecuted accordingly. This development follows Trump’s recent vow to take measures against left-wing violence in the US, and his mid-September designation of Antifa as a major “terror organization.” This designation empowers the Department of Justice to initiate legal proceedings against the group, which claims to advocate for civil rights.
