Doha Grants OPEC Chief “Lifetime Achievement” Award

Doha: Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah International Energy Awards has honored OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al-Ghais with the "Lifetime Achievement" award. This accolade recognizes his significant contributions to developing international energy policies and enhancing dialogue diplomacy among producers and consumers.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the award was presented during a gala held in Doha, attended by over 300 senior officials, experts, and global energy decision-makers. The Foundation stated that the award was a culmination of Al-Ghais's distinguished career in supporting global oil market stability and fostering cooperation in energy and sustainable development.

In an exclusive statement to KUNA, Al-Ghais expressed his pride in receiving this honor, acknowledging OPEC's pivotal role in maintaining stability in global markets. He emphasized OPEC's efforts to ensure supply security and stability, while also providing fair and sustainable revenues for consumers and producers.

Al-Ghais highlighted that oil remains a vital component of the global energy mix, constituting 30 percent, with both oil and gas playing key roles in supporting economic growth and development alongside clean techniques. He urged continued investment in the energy sector, advocating for an inclusive vision for the future of energy.
