New York: The UNSC adopted resolution 2774, which called for putting an end to the conflict in Ukraine and securing lasting peace between Moscow and Kiev. The resolution received ten votes in favor, while five countries abstained, including the UK, France, Greece, Denmark, and Slovenia.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the resolution reflected the UNSC's deep sorrow over the loss of lives that occurred during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. It emphasized the importance of maintaining world security and peace, as well as resolving conflicts in a peaceful manner.
The resolution is identical to the draft resolution presented to the UNGA on Monday, with similar content calling for an end to the conflict.
