UNRWA: Israeli Occupation Continues Targeting Starving Palestinians Amid Genocide

Kuwait city: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed on Thursday that the Israeli occupation forces continue to target Palestinians attempting to get aid amidst catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. "Palestinians are being shot at in search of food at a time when Gaza is witnessing one of the worst humanitarian crises in its history amid a politically and militarily supported genocide," UNRWA said in a press release.

According to Kuwait News Agency, UNRWA highlighted that the UN had previously warned months ago about the implications of the starvation policy pursued by the Israeli occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip. The agency asserted that the situation has become unbearable and requires immediate political action to reopen the crossings unconditionally.

UNRWA called for guaranteeing the freedom of humanitarian teams such as the UN and its partners, emphasizing the need to allow them safe and unrestricted access throughout Gaza to provide lifesaving assistance. It warned against continuing to obstruct humanitarian efforts, which leads to more casualties and exacerbates the crisis the Gazan population is experiencing.
