Doha: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres affirmed on Thursday his solidarity with Qatar and expressed great concern over the Israeli occupation attack on Doha, describing the act as a blatant violation of international laws and norms. According to Kuwait News Agency, these remarks were made during a telephone call between Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Guterres. The Qatari Amiri Diwan stated that Guterres labeled the attack a "dangerous threat" to the security of Qatar and the surrounding region. He emphasized the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire to prevent further escalation. Undersecretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo commented that the assault in Qatar "shocked the world" and warned that it could "open a new and perilous chapter" in the ongoing conflict, thereby threatening regional peace and stability. In a meeting held on Thursday, UN Security Council members expressed strong support for Qatar's sovereignty and territorial integrity under t he UN Charter. They condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar and showed their solidarity with Doha, while also voicing serious concern over the casualties resulting from the incident.
