Ukrainian President Zelenskyy Awaits Outcomes from Geneva Talks for Future Steps

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Monday that Kyiv's future actions would depend on the agreements reached during the multilateral talks in Geneva. In a social media post, Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine's commitment to coordinating with Europe and other global partners, expressing optimism about achieving the desired outcomes.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Zelenskyy shared that the Ukrainian delegation is on its way back to Kyiv, and he anticipates a comprehensive briefing later in the evening on the progress made in Geneva, as well as on the key priorities highlighted by Ukraine's partners. The Geneva talks, held on Sunday, focused on US President Donald Trump's proposal to establish a framework for ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

The discussions involved prominent figures such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy to President Trump Steve Witkoff, Secretary of Defense Dania Driscoll, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, and National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov. Both Ukrainian and US officials described the talks as "highly productive."

According to a joint US-Ukraine statement, the discussions marked significant progress in aligning positions and defining concrete next steps. Both parties emphasized that any future agreement must fully respect Ukraine's sovereignty and ensure a stable and just peace. Following the talks, a revised and refined peace framework document was prepared.
