Ukraine launches drone attack on fuel facility in Crimea

Ukrainian armed forces on Saturday launched a drone attack on fuel containers in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol, the city governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said.

Quoted by the Russian news agency, Itar-Tass, the governor said the attack targeted a fuel facility and impact of the assault set fuel containers alight. However, firemen scrambled to the scene and put out the blazes.

Crimea was merged into Russia in 2014 after bulk of the residents voted in favor of this option in a public referendum.

Russia declared, in February 2022, “a special military operation” in neighboring Ukraine to protect Russian speaking residents of some eastern and southeastern regions. Since then, fighting has been raging between Russian and Ukrainian forces
