London: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the importance of maintaining pressure on Russia and supporting Ukraine until the conclusion of the war. He co-chaired a virtual meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, as stated in a 10 Downing Street announcement on Thursday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Prime Minister briefed allies on recent engagements with international partners and ongoing efforts related to the US-led peace plan. The coalition agreed on the critical nature of the current situation for Ukraine, its citizens, and the broader Euro-Atlantic security framework.
President Zelenskyy provided an update on the persistent Russian attacks on Ukraine, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to essential infrastructure. Discussions among the leaders highlighted the progress in crippling Russia's war efforts through coordinated sanctions and enforcement, as well as advancements in mobilizing frozen Russian Sovereign Assets.
As Ukraine approaches its fourth winter amid conflict, the leaders concurred on the necessity of continuous military support funding. The Prime Minister reiterated the UK's commitment to collaborating with international partners to sustain pressure on Russia and ensure Ukraine receives the required support for as long as necessary, as noted in the statement.
