UAE Lifts Three-Year Travel Ban to Lebanon

Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates (UAE) nationals will be permitted to travel to Lebanon as of May 7, lifting a three-year ban that had been in place on security grounds. This announcement was reported by the state news agency, highlighting a significant development in UAE-Lebanon relations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the measure follows "directives" from President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The decision was influenced by a state visit from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to the UAE, which facilitated the reinstatement of travel for citizens. This move comes after implementing necessary procedures and mechanisms to ease movement between the two nations, as quoted by a foreign ministry statement issued by WAM.

The statement also emphasized that UAE nationals are required to register on a ministry-run online platform called "Twajudi" before traveling to Lebanon. It urged citizens to complete their registration on this platform prior to departure to ensure compliance with the new travel protocols.

The foreign ministry further noted that adhering to these procedures is essential to ensure the "safety and well-being" of UAE nationals abroad. This step marks a positive shift in diplomatic relations and travel policy between the UAE and Lebanon.
