U.S. to Expand Domestic Vehicle Production to Boost American Jobs

Washington: The U.S. has decided to expand domestic vehicle production to create good, high-paying jobs for American workers, according to a senior American official. “The priority is to expand domestic vehicle production in the United States to ensure that we have good, high-paying jobs for American workers,” a senior administration official told reporters late Friday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the program is designed to allow automakers who build vehicles in the U.S. with American labor to remain cost competitive and expand production. Additionally, an import adjustment offset program for automobile and truck engine manufacturers has been introduced to reward companies that produce their engines domestically.

Meanwhile, the White House announced the imposition of 10 percent tariffs on imported buses starting November 1. This measure, which has been discussed for months, aims to protect domestic manufacturers.
