Kuala lumpur: U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has announced that the United States will revive military drills with Cambodia, marking the first such exercises in eight years. This decision comes after a meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Tea Seiha on the sidelines of the ASEAN defense ministers meeting.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the reinstatement of the "Angkor Sentinel" drills signals a warming of bilateral relations following recent agreements, including a U.S.-backed peace accord with Thailand. The drills had been suspended in 2017 amid U.S. criticism of Cambodia's human rights record and democratic practices.
