Rabat: The fifth meeting of the "international coalition for the implementation of the two states solution" aimed at addressing the Middle East crisis commenced in Rabat on Tuesday. The event brought together delegations from the United States, Russia, Spain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, the UN, the EU, and other stakeholders.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita emphasized in his inaugural speech that Morocco, grounded in its historic responsibilities and chairmanship of the Jerusalem Committee, supports the two states settlement as the only resolution to the crisis. Bourita stated that this solution is not merely a slogan but a moral commitment and a feasible political option that demands immediate attention.
He further noted that the meeting represents a beacon of hope for the region's people and signifies a practical step towards making the two states option a tangible reality. The coalition was originally formed following a Saudi Arabian initiative in 2014, as part of efforts by Arab nations to establish an independent Palestinian state.
