Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey is prepared to assist in the recovery of Gaza. Speaking at the TRT World Forum in Istanbul, Erdogan emphasized that Palestine's Hamas movement remains committed to a ceasefire agreement, while accusing the Israeli occupation of seeking reasons to violate the deal.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Erdogan criticized Israel's track record in keeping its promises, highlighting the extensive damage in Gaza, where schools, churches, mosques, and hospitals have been bombed. He questioned the narrative of Israel's innocence, pointing to the possession of nuclear weapons and the ability to strike Gaza without restraint. He condemned the killing of 270 journalists in Gaza, who he said were targeted for exposing the realities on the ground.
Erdogan accused the Israeli occupation of using hunger as a weapon against children in Gaza. He reiterated Turkey's readiness to support Gaza's recovery and criticized global institutions for failing to take action against massacres and protect the lives of children.
In addition to the situation in Gaza, Erdogan addressed the conflict in Sudan, condemning the atrocities committed against civilians in the city of El Fasher.
