Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed on Sunday with the visiting Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the bilateral relations between both countries, alongside regional and global issues. This meeting took place at Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul. According to Kuwait News Agency, Erdogan stated that Ankara would continue working to improve Turkish-Pakistani relations and reach the USD five billion trade volume target. He emphasized that Turkiye will strive to enhance cooperation in various fields, notably energy, transportation, and defense. Erdogan highlighted that increasing solidarity in training, intelligence sharing, and technological support in counter-terrorism efforts is in the interest of both countries. Furthermore, Erdogan underscored the importance of making the 'Istanbul-Tehran-Islamabad' train line more efficient. He also pointed out that taking concrete steps in the field of education would significantly contribute to strengthening relations between the two nations.
