Turkish MoD Announces The Killing Of Two PKK Militants In Northern Iraq

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of two PKK militants in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement today, Monday, that a Turkish army unit stationed in the Operation Lock of the Claw area in northern Iraq monitored movements of a number of PKK militants, and after an exchange of fire, it monitored the death of two of them, while the rest of the armed group withdrew.

The Turkish army carried out a large-scale military operation on April 18 of last year, and it is still ongoing, dubbed Lock of the Claw, against the strongholds of the PKK in the regions of Matina, Zab, Afshin and Bazian in northern Iraq.
