Ankara: Trade exchange between Turkiye and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, mainly Saudi Arabia and the UAE, has reached approximately USD 45 billion over the last three years, as reported by Nail Olpak, President of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).
According to Kuwait News Agency, Olpak mentioned in a press statement that Turkish companies are actively involved in significant projects across Saudi Arabia and maintain a robust presence in the Gulf region. He highlighted the strong economic ties and ongoing collaborations that have contributed to this substantial trade volume.
In addition to the Gulf trade exchange, Olpak addressed trade relations with Syria, noting a significant increase despite the country's prolonged conflict. He revealed that trade exchange with Syria rose to USD 1.3 billion in 2025 and projected further growth for the current year. Turkish exports to Syria surpassed three billion US dollars, marking a 54 percent increase in 2025 compared to the previous year, 2024.
