Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that the Turkish-Syrian discussions held in Ankara on Sunday served as a vital opportunity to evaluate the strategic components of the bilateral relationship, emphasizing that the security of both nations is “inseparable.”
According to Kuwait News Agency, Fidan stated via In Social platform that the meeting addressed every facet of the strategic dimensions of bilateral ties. He underscored that Syria’s security is intricately linked with that of Turkiye, suggesting that joint and concrete measures were deliberated to ensure Syria’s comprehensive security while safeguarding its territorial integrity.
Fidan further noted that both parties had reached a consensus on enhancing close collaboration and cooperation to support the Syrian populace. The high-level meeting saw the participation of prominent officials, including Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra, and Intelligence Chief Hussein Salameh.
