Washington: US President Donald Trump has appointed Hamtramck (Michigan) Mayor Amer Ghalib as the new Ambassador to the State of Kuwait. Trump expressed his enthusiasm for Ghalib’s appointment on “Truth Social,” highlighting Ghalib’s commitment and contributions to Trump’s electoral campaigns in Michigan.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Ghalib, who holds a PhD in medicine, will take on the ambassadorial role with the aim of representing the United States with pride. Ghalib, 45, made history in 2021 when he was elected as the first Arab mayor in Hamtramck. His new diplomatic role is expected to further strengthen the ties between the US and Kuwait.
In related appointments, Trump also announced that Duke Buchan III would serve as the US Ambassador to Morocco. Trump emphasized that Duke’s role would be crucial in enhancing peace, freedom, and prosperity for both the US and Morocco.
Additionally, Trump appointed Michel Issa as the United States Ambassador to Lebanon. He praised Issa as an accomplished businessman and financial expert with a distinguished career in banking, entrepreneurship, and international trade, expressing confidence in Issa’s ability to serve with honor and distinction.
