The Minister of Communications, Hayam Al-Yasiri, chaired today, Monday, the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Prevention of Hate Speech, which is tasked with preparing a national strategy, in the presence of representatives of the ministries and concerned authorities.
During the meeting, Al-Yasiri stressed that a number of urgent executive measures would be taken to curb hate speech, combat all forms of extremism and violence, and raise awareness of its dangers.
The meeting also stressed the importance of organizing the content list to be issued by the Media and Communications Commission, which is one of the most important ongoing measures for the committee’s work, which in turn will contribute to rejecting hate rhetoric, urging acceptance of the other, creating a safe environment for society and promoting the principles of peaceful coexistence.
