Sweida: At least 30 people were killed and nearly 100 others injured in armed clashes between local armed groups and tribal groups in the southern Syrian city of Sweida, the Syrian Interior Ministry announced on Monday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the state news agency (SANA) reported that the ministry stated units from its forces, in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, would intervene to halt the fighting, restore order, and bring those responsible to justice to prevent further bloodshed. The ministry late on Sunday expressed deep concern and sorrow over the "bloody developments," warning that continued violence would only fuel chaos and worsen civilian suffering. It stressed the urgent need to deploy security forces across the province and initiate a comprehensive dialogue to address the root causes of the conflict and safeguard the dignity and rights of all communities in Sweida.
