State of Kuwait Congratulates GCC Leaders on 44th Anniversary

Kuwait City: Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated the leaders and people of the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) countries on the 44th anniversary of its foundation.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Foreign Ministry affirmed Kuwait's commitment to continued joint work in the spirit of solidarity and collective responsibility, aiming for a more integrated and influential future both regionally and internationally.

The statement highlighted the GCC countries' celebration of the 44th anniversary of the council, established in 1981. The formation marked a unified Gulf political initiative and a strategic vision for enhancing cooperation and integration among member countries, as well as reinforcing security and stability in the region.

Kuwait, currently chairing the council's session, was instrumental in proposing its foundation. The late Amir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, proposed the idea, recognizing the council's significant role in fostering cooperation.

The Ministry also recalled the essential role and decisions made by GCC leaders in establishing the council, which reflects their wisdom and awareness of the challenges and risks faced by the region. The council has laid solid foundations for cooperation and achieved strategic accomplishments throughout its journey.
