Brussels: Spain's Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday the European country's full backing to the plan adopted by the Arab Summit held in Cairo two days ago on rebuilding the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in a statement, the ministry said it supports the early recovery plan, and reconstruction and development in Gaza, renewing the Arab League's efforts for peace and stability in the region. The statement welcomed backing the role of Palestine in rebuilding Gaza for a future in which Palestinian people could live in peace on their land.
It noted that the plan determines the path for stability in Gaza and moves to achieve the two-state solution. The statement called again for consolidating the ceasefire, rejecting forced displacement of Palestinians, and urging humanitarian aid access into Gaza.
On Tuesday, the Arab leaders adopted Egypt's plan for rebuilding Gaza in two phases over five years. The plan includes some provisions like keeping Palestinians in their land, rebuilding Gaza, providing urgent relief, and others.
