Madrid: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez declared that Spain neither recognized President Nicolas Maduro's regime nor supported foreign intervention in Venezuela. Sanchez emphasized that Spain would not endorse "an intervention that violates international law and pushes the region toward a horizon of uncertainty and belligerence," as he stated on his X account following the US airstrikes on the Caribbean nation. According to Kuwait News Agency, Sanchez urged all parties involved to prioritize the civilian population, adhere to the United Nations Charter, and work towards a fair and dialogued transition. The statement came after the Spanish Foreign Ministry expressed significant concern over the aftermath of the extensive US airstrikes on Caracas, which resulted in the capture of President Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.
