Dar nama'a: A prominent leader of the Al-Shabaab militia, affiliated with Al-Qaeda, was killed in Dar Nama'a in the Middle Shabelle region, southeast of Somalia, reported the Somali National News Agency (SONNA) Wednesday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this was the result of a planned military operation carried out by resistance forces who successfully eliminated the slain leader, Mahmoud Ahmad Guri. Guri was a prominent Al-Shabaab commander in the Middle Shabelle and Hiran regions.
Guri had previously served as the bombing operations commander in the Mudug and Galguduud regions. He was known for his involvement in organizing and executing terrorist attacks in these areas.
