Mogadishu: The Somali Army announced on Monday that its elite forces, the Danab unit, successfully killed at least 100 Al-Shabaab militants in an operation in the Awdheegle district of the Lower Shabelle region. This mission was carried out with the support of international air partners.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the operation focused on dismantling the infrastructure used by Al-Shabaab. The elite forces targeted and destroyed tunnels and hideouts that had been utilized by the militants, resulting in the elimination of more than 100 fighters.
This military action is part of a broader offensive aimed at defeating Al-Shabaab and improving security and stability for the Somali population. The efforts to eradicate the militant group are ongoing, as the Somali Army continues to engage in operations to neutralize threats posed by the militants.
