Slovenian Prime Minister Asserts Israel Must Recognize Palestine for Trump’s Peace Plan

Ljubljana: Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob has welcomed the initiative of US President Donald Trump to halt the ongoing conflict in Gaza, stating that any peace plan will only be viable if it includes Israel's recognition of an independent Palestinian state. This statement was made during an interview with Slovenian Television and was published by the Slovenian news agency.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Golob emphasized that Slovenia has long been committed to ending the violence in Gaza and achieving lasting peace in the region. He expressed support for President Trump's latest peace proposal, highlighting the need for mutual recognition and cooperation between Israel and Palestine as essential components of any successful peace initiative.

Golob further announced that King Abdullah II of Jordan will attend the European Mediterranean Union Countries Summit MED9, which will be hosted in Ljubljana this October. The summit will prioritize discussions on rebuilding Palestine, reflecting Slovenia's ongoing efforts to support peace and stability in the region.
