Security Operations Kill 4 More Militants in Northern Pakistan.


North Waziristan: At least 10 militants were killed by security forces as Pakistan military killed four more in two separate operations in the northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province on Sunday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a military statement reported that four militants were killed in two separate engagements in North Waziristan District of KPK. The statement detailed that during an intelligence-based operation in Spinwam of North Waziristan, troops effectively engaged the militants’ location, resulting in the death of two militants after an intense exchange of fire.

In another incident, security forces detected a group of militants attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the general area of Spinwam. The troops effectively engaged and thwarted their infiltration attempt, killing two more militants while injuring two others, according to the military.

The military statement emphasized that “Security Forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its bor
ders and eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.”

Earlier in the day, the military confirmed the elimination of six militants and injuring six others during intelligence-based operations in the same area. The security operations take place amid a rise in terror attacks in Pakistan, particularly in the KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.
