Peshawar: At least 10 militants were killed in a security operation by the Pakistan army in Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, said the military on Monday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release issued by Pakistan military's media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Bagh in the Khyber tribal district of KPK, following reports of militant presence. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the militants' location, resulting in the death of ten militants, ISPR confirmed.
A search and clear operation is underway to eliminate any other militants found in the area, as Pakistan's security forces are determined to eradicate terrorism from the country, the statement concluded.
Recently, at least seven militants were killed in two separate operations in the Dera Ismail Khan district of KPK. These operations are occurring in the context of a rise in terror attacks, particularly in the KPK and Balochistan provinces, both of which border Afghanistan.
