Balochistan: At least 12 militants were killed by security forces in an operation in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, said the military on Sunday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release by Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district of Balochistan on reported presence of militants.
During the conduct of the operation, Pakistani forces effectively engaged the militants' location, and after an intense exchange of fire, 12 militants were killed, confirmed ISPR. "Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area," it added.
The operation comes a day after nine militants were killed by security forces in two separate operations in Tank and Lakki Marwat districts of Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province.
